“...when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him,
and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.”Luke 15: 20
When the prodigal son was on his way back to his father,
his father saw him while he was still far away and came for him
. He had been
away from his father for a while, but his father recognised and remembered him.
He spent some time in a far country, but the father recognised him. Despite all
he had done wrong, his father still recognised and accepted him.
Friend, no matter how far away you have ever gone from
God, God still recognises you. God is not a father who ceases to recognise His
own because His own did wrong; God does not forget you or give up on you
because you failed Him or made a mistake; God does not abandon you because you
have been far away from Him. When you go far from God and wish to return, He is
more committed to your return than you are.
Just in case you have failed God, your sin doesn’t make
Him lose sight of you; in case you feel unworthy, you need not be worthy to
come back to Him; Jesus paid so you can always return, worthy or unworthy. When
Jesus died and the veil in the temple was torn, He opened the door so that your
relationship with Your Father can be secure.
Never allow the enemy blackmail you out of your
relationship with God because you walked away and you feel God is angry with
you. God is not excited to see you fail Him; but if you fail Him, He does not
give up the desire to have you as His own.
Next time you stray away from the Father, like the
prodigal son, just go back home to your Father; He still recognises and calls
you by name.
Isaiah 43 vs. 1 says: “...thus saith the LORD...Fear not:
for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.”
Declare With Me: I belong to the Father; He knows me by
name, in Jesus’ name!
