"Success in life means money." Yes or No

In today's society, the word 'money', a devoured haven to the rich, a strenuous endeavor to the less fortunate, has become what we believe as a fundamental means to a successful and happy life.

To a certain extent, money could be 'the root to all evil' as they say, or the 'root to all success'. Generally, money is without a doubt a necessity to survive, it is needed to provide ourselves basic shelter, food, water, clothes and so forth. Having little money could potentially dissuade the opportunities to pursue life happily due to continues economic uncertainty. But having too much money would potentially persuade the individual to abuse monetary power.

Personally, I believe that success in life is measured not by how much you have in terms of money, but rather giving back what you already have to society. Being able to support your family financially is success, being able to travel the world and deliver as much inspiration for others to learn from you is success, donating to the poor and needy in abundance is success. These are what an individual should seek gracefully for when money is at the tip of their fingers. But that doesn't mean that the fortunate shouldn’t be able to enjoy a little bit of their wealth. Society unfortunately, has been feeding over materialism especially at this present time due to the persistent development of technology and updated social media expertise that allows us to seep thoroughly into things we find most valuable, things as in stuff/goods.

Sometimes, we feel that having these so called "stuff" makes us feel more empowered by or looked up to, this however gives us the opposite outcome. Instead of actually feeling valued, it makes us more susceptible to vulnerability. The more we have, the more we want, it's never enough. And as this trend grows, so does our egos. Nonetheless, 'the road to success comes through hard work, determination and sacrifice'. If we are able to control our temptations to having all what is reasonably not needed and avoid spending too much money on possessions, and keep God in our minds every step of the way, focusing more on giving back to society, success would not be that hard to achieve. Monetary wise or not.
