Kidnappers are believed to have abducted and murdered a ten-year-old boy in Kano City of Kano State on Monday. The boy has been identified as Musa Salisu by police.
Mr. Salisu was abducted at 2pm in the Naibawa quarters of Kano City. The assailants have not yet been identified at the time of publication.
He explained that "the abductors demanded half a million [naira] ransom to release the boy” and that "the matter was promptly reported to the police, while concerted effort was made to meet their demand."
The uncle then revealed "we called them through the same line this morning for a deal only to learn that the boy has been slaughtered."
“The abductors further gave us a vivid description of where they deposited the corpse along eastern bypass," he said.
Kafinta Salisu told reporters that they recovered his nephew and buried him at Naibawa cemetery according to Islamic rites.
Confirming the incident, the police spokesperson in Kano, DSP Magaji Musa Majia, said that the investigation has started and that they will locate those behind the dastardly act.
The police refused to elaborate further on the case but family sources speaking to Vanguard said that two suspects have been arrested.
