We are humans, pleasure lovers, comfort seekers; When pain(s) appear, we tend
to dodge it, sometimes we lose momentum and balance, many of us tend to quit
too soon.
We try to short circuit the process, but we easily forget that most of the
lasting success and great things we see around today were product of moments of
undescribable pains.
We try by all means to avoid anything that will bring pain in the process, but very few understand that PAIN is an essential commodity we must consciously or unconsciously become familiar with or embrace as a part of our life as we live a purpose driven life.

I perfectly understand the scenario of "if it be thy will let this cup pass over me", remember the Man that first made this statement was heading to the Cross to die for sins He knows nothing about, but He viewed the Glory, the reward, the resultant effect of what He was about to do, if He had actually thrown in the towel and walked away, then human race was doomed for life.
This same is applicable to humans, when we experience road blocks, lack of strength to carry on, we tend to start making statements that shouldn't be, we consider quitting and walking away, but it isn't the option to opt for, let's also consider Thomas Edison 999 times of making efforts to invent a bulb, his never say never spirit still wow me till date.
Let me ask you have you failed (felt pain) 999 times before? Have you experience being nailed to the Cross with having to drink a sour wine before? Definitely NO.
These ones had a first hand experience of what it looks like, but they used their pains and they gained mastery of it.
So why give up when you can convert your pains in the a useful resource to birth the change you were sent into the world for?
Instead of quitting because it is painful, why not learn to gain mastery of your pains?
As little as I have seen and known, I don't know and I haven't seen any truly great and fulfilled individuals, organizations, communities, nations, who failed to gain mastery of their pains, and I don't think there will ever be anyone who lived a fulfilled life on a platter of gold.
Praying to God to totally eradicate challenges from your life, is the same as praying to Him to take you out of the world, because it only the dead that don't experience pains, in as much as you are still on this planet be ready to experience pains.
